Career Academies

Purpose for CPA's career academies is to ensure that our students experience learning in career fields as a part of their daily education, which prepares them for college and their career choices. Our Cybersecurity & Programming and The Arts: Film Making academies are a small learning community, has curriculum with a career theme and instruction is delivered by educators, professionals in their field, and includes exploration excursions to ensure students are having real world experiences.

Cybersecurity & Programming Academy

During Cyber Literacy Connection Classes (CLiC) CPA students learn about Computer Science (CS) in response to the growing use of computing devices and their impact on every aspect of society. Students Learn about  computers and algorithmic processes, including their principles, their hardware and software designs, their implementation, and their impact on society. As part of the class students are required to produce original work, do community based presentations, and participate in competitions.

The Arts: Film Making 
Academy

Sponsored by  Wing Stop Charities

The course covers technical and expressive considerations of production, such as equipment, lighting, costumes, setting, props, and script. It provides opportunities to participate in each phase of production, stressing analysis of film and video production based on historical and critical analysis. As part of the class students are required to produce original work, do community based presentations, and participate in competitions.
